Parent Involvement Kits
The Program Specialists at MEGLRS work with parents to create customized parental involvement kits for use with students enrolled in PreK through High School. Each kit is created especially for your student, to meet both their needs, and yours as a parent.
By sitting down with you and discussing your students' present levels in academics and other important areas, such as social skills, we work to create 14 home activities to enrich your students learning. Each activity has a family component, and is tailored to your students' interests.
Each kit comes with a parent guide, parent resources, and hands on learning activities aligned with the Georgia Performance Standards (GPS) and your students' IEP, 504 plan, or other contract or individualized learning plans.
Kits are checked out from the Jim Cherry Teacher Center for 4 weeks at a time. Kits must be returned. Some materials are consumable and may be kept for use at home. Kits are non-renewable however, our Program Specialists will work with you to create a new Kit for your student each month, if you desire.
